For a pig producer to run an efficient and modern production of pigs, he needs a clear basis on which to make his decisions. Therefore, Pig Research Centre allocates many ressources to research and development tasks aimed at ensuring a high quality of the products.
The scientific tasks centre on:
• Management & Communication
• Genetic research & development
• Nutrition & Reproduction
• Production systems & environmental technology
• Veterinary matters
• Advisory-related activities
One of Pig Research Centre's main activities is the Danish Applied Pig Research Scheme. Research and development tasks under this scheme are conducted in regular Danish pig herds - often in close co.operation with the advisors of the herds (pig advisors, vets, etc.). Approximately 100 pig producers are affiliated to the Danish Applied Pig Research Scheme as trial hosts.
Pig Research Centre is also in charge of the fund for controlling new pig diseases. Through this fund, funds can be channeled for control of new production diseases and funds can also be used in case of suspicion of diseases.

Scientific publications on our research and development activities are available in Danish.
Our Annual Report is published in connection with the Annual Meeting and Congress held every year in October. The Report has two functions: it presents the results of our work of the last year and it functions as an advisory tool.
